Reducing the Impact of Medical Debt

Governor Hochul signs legislation that prohibits agencies from including medical debt of any amount on credit reports, building on earlier measures to ease the financial burden on New Yorkers. Leading up to this milestone, numerous NYHealth grantees and partners conducted policy analyses, provided direct support to people struggling with medical debt, and helped secure passage of seven different consumer protection policies.
