Advocating for School Meals in New York City

NYHealth supports a wide-ranging campaign to secure universal school lunch for all New York City schoolchildren. One year later, in June 2017, the New York City budget vastly expands and funds free lunch for nearly all of the City’s 1.1 million students, a huge victory for health, for children, for education, and for equity. These efforts lay the groundwork for future statewide advocacy for universal school meals for all New York schoolchildren.
